Russell Koester is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist (L.Ac.) in the state of California and nationally certified as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.). He is a graduate of Five Branches University, Santa Cruz. Before joining SCIHP Russell served the Monterey Bay Peninsula at Pacific Grove Acupuncture specializing in chronic pain management for low-income individuals. Russell additionally has a strong background in traditional herbal medicine with experience treating a wide variety of conditions. Before studying medicine, Russell spent his time in concert halls and classrooms as a classically trained musician and teacher but continues to play alongside the Petaluma Community Band. His latest endeavor is fatherhood and outside of the clinic you can find him spending time with his daughter, Imogen, and partner, Hannah. You might also run into him at the farmer’s market, hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing.
